AwayBot — Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 August 2026. Applies to the AwayBot Slack app.

1. Who provides this service

AwayBot is provided by RVDH Interim Management B.V., established in Veenendaal, the Netherlands (“we”, “us”), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 95274545. You can reach us at info@kyc-checks.nl.

By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you are installing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.

2. What the service does

You set an out-of-office with /awaybot, optionally with a start date, an end date and a timezone. While it is active, AwayBot watches the conversations it is a member of for <@you> mentions and replies in the thread with the message you wrote. /awaybot status shows your current entry and /awaybot off switches it off.

3. What the service explicitly does not do

4. Plans, pricing and payment

Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. Prices are stated exclusive of any taxes that may apply to you.

5. Cancelling, and what happens to your data

You can cancel at any time in Stripe. Cancelling stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund periods that have already been paid for, and cancelling mid-period does not produce a partial or pro-rated refund.

If you uninstall AwayBot from Slack, everything stored about your workspace is deleted — the installation, all out-of-office entries, the billing row and the reply log. Short of uninstalling, /awaybot off deletes your entry — message, dates and timezone included. See the Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable use

Use the app only on workspaces you are authorised to administer, and do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other customers’ data. Do not use the out-of-office message field to distribute unlawful content — AwayBot posts it verbatim into your workspace. We may suspend access where continued use would harm the service or other users.

7. Availability and disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of delay. AwayBot depends on Slack and Stripe, and on their availability and rate limits, which are outside our control. An out-of-office reply is a courtesy, not a guaranteed delivery: do not rely on it as the only way an urgent message reaches a colleague.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Dutch law, including liability for intent or deliberate recklessness.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version is published on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory law designates another court.

11. Privacy

How the app handles personal data is described separately in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
