AwayBot

Automatic out-of-office replies for Slack.

Set your out-of-office once, and AwayBot answers for you. When a teammate mentions you while you're away, AwayBot replies in the thread with your message and when you're back — so nobody is left wondering, and you come back to fewer pings.

How it works

• Set it: /awaybot to 2026-08-01 Back on the 1st, ask @sarah for anything urgent
• Check it: /awaybot status
• Turn it off: /awaybot off

Optional from date to schedule it ahead, and tz=Europe/Amsterdam to set your timezone.

Good to know

• Replies are throttled to once per channel every 30 minutes, so AwayBot never spams a conversation.
• It replies in a thread, keeping the channel tidy.
• It reads messages only to spot mentions, in memory — message content is never stored and never logged. See the Privacy Policy.
• It only sees conversations it has been added to; remove it from a channel and it stops seeing that channel entirely.
• /awaybot off deletes your entry — message, dates and timezone — rather than just switching it off.

Free for one out-of-office user per workspace — the limit is checked when you set an out-of-office. Pro is $4.99 / workspace / month and lifts it, so any number of people can be out of office at once.
